KOLB, Frances Rawls, 99, of Valrico, FL, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. A native of Charleston, SC, she had resided in Valrico for 16 yrs. Earning her B.S. degree from Winthrop College, SC., she spent 29 years teaching Home Economics in Sumter, SC, did graduate work at the University of South Carolina and taught Sunday school at Grace Baptist Church for 30 years. She moved to Brandon, FL in 1995 and was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church of Brandon, where she was loved by many. The daughter of Ella and Ernest Rawls, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph B. Kolb and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Donald Nelson, Valrico, grandchildren, David and Anne Patrick (Logan and Rylie), Vero Beach, FL, Brian and Christie Patrick (Brett, Gray and Ivey), Atlanta, GA, Marilyn and Bob Cose (Kelly), Beverly and Larry Collier (Larry, Jr., Angel and Chris), Brandon, FL; 9 great-great-grandchildren and a special "adopted" granddaughter, Rita Perez, Brandon, FL.
Funeral Information
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 28, 2009, at Evergreen Memorial Park, Sumter, SC. Memorial services in Brandon, FL will be at a later date in the chapel of the First Baptist Church of Brandon.
