Florence C. Ferlita, 81, of Tampa, Florida, passed away Sunday, June 11th , 2023. Florence
dedicated her life to caring for her family, which she loved deeply. She got great
pleasure from hosting the holidays, and no holiday was complete without her famous
ham and baked beans. Her spaghetti sauce and meatballs were another family staple
that could never be replicated. Not only was Florence an excellent cook, but she was
also a master quilter. She made many quilts for her family and friends that will be
cherished forever. She adored spending time at Walt Disney World with her children,
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Florence is preceded in death by her parents,
Jimmy and Juanita Cannella; Brother, Sammy Cannella; Sisters, Margaret Hazelet and
Maryann Lee; Son-in-Law, Gordon Peterson and Grandson, Justin Ferlita. She is survived
by her loving husband of 62 years, Joseph Ferlita; Children, Glenn (Carolyn) Fagen,
M'Liss Ferlita, Jo Ann Peterson, Tony Ferlita, Kim Ferlita, and Nyah Ferlita;
Grandchildren, Joshua Fagen, Brian (Rachael) Smith, Cortney (Joey) Ruiz,
Annah (Erik) Tarallo, Jason Fagen, and Taylor Wells; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Smith,
Waylon Smith, Luca Ruiz, and Violet Ruiz; siblings, Jimmy Cannella and Julia Cannella
and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. And not to be forgotten is her beloved
fur baby, Zoey. A memorial service will be held at Southern Funeral Care on Saturday,
June 24, 2023, at 1 PM with family receiving friends one hour prior to services.
