Estela Gregorio, 99, passed away on December 25, 2024 after a long and fulfilling life. Born on September 16, 1925 in Cuba, Estela lived a life filled with tremendous passion and devotion towards her family.
In the late 60s, Estela moved to Port Chester, NY where she resided for many years. One of Estela’s most commendable talents was her role as a seamstress. Sewing, knitting, and quilting was her language, her solace, and her method of connecting with those around her.
In 1990, Estela retired and spent her time with her grandkids, playing in the yard, cooking everything they loved, and filling their bellies with chocolates. Shortly after, she moved to Tampa, FL to be closer to her children. In recent years, she enjoyed painting her own nails with elaborate designs and crafting meaningful gifts.
Estela was predeceased by her parents, Federico Roman and Josefa Roman, brother, Orestes Roman, sisters, Aida Alvarez and Luz Marina Cabrera, former spouse, Elgido Gregorio, and son, Elgido Gregorio.
She is survived by her sister, Estrella Batallan, son, Rene Gregorio, daughter in law, Marcella Gregorio, three grandsons, Michael, Steven, and Nicholas Gregorio, two granddaughters, Christina and Brianna Gregorio, and great granddaughter, Delaney Gregorio, whose lives were greatly enriched by Estela’s presence. Her departure leaves an unfillable void in their lives, yet they find comfort in the memories and everlasting love they shared.
