Wynn, Ernest Lamar, 82, of Brandon, Florida, passed away on October 8, 2025.
Ernest was born on March 20, 1943 to John A. Wynn and Thelma E. Wynn in Durant, Florida. Ernest graduated from Turkey Creek High School, then enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961. While stationed in Salina, Kansas, he wed Carla K. Vint, on April 22, 1962. Upon his Honorable Discharge in 1965, they moved to Hillsborough County, Florida and raised their family.
Ernest was a skilled electrician working in this vocation for thirty-five years, chiefly at the Reynolds Metals Company, Tampa Can Plant, until his retirement in 2000.
Ernest enjoyed all manner of outdoor activities, particularly hunting and fishing. In 1974, he obtained his Pilot License and enjoyed the challenge, adventure, and freedom of flying. He also enjoyed reading paperback adventure novels and socializing with friends. Ernest was mechanically minded, confidently solving carpentry, electrical, or plumbing problems around the house. He enjoyed tinkering with his boats and motors, always preparing for the next fishing trip. Ernest loved spending time with his grandchildren, and took great pride in their accomplishments. He was playfully funny, gentle, and kind.
Ernest was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Carla (2023), his parents, John and Thelma Wynn, his older brothers Hoyt, William, Jerrell, and is survived by his younger sister, Margie Parmer (Bo). Additionally, Ernest is survived by his son Gregory L. Wynn (Theresa) and daughter Tamara K. Pinkard (Mark), as well as four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
