Our family’s heart, Edward "Eddie" Kurs, left this world on August 9, 2025, but he will always be with us. For over 50 years, he was a loving husband to Elaine and the rock of our family.
He was the proud father of Glen (and his beautiful daughter-in-law, Tasha) and Ilene (and her partner, JB, who was already a son to him). But his favorite title was "Grandpa," and he was, without a doubt, the best one to; Isabella, Victoria, Jason, Joe, Willa, and Kasey. He eventually became everyone’s Grandpa, a testament to his warm and caring soul.
Eddie was the younger twin brother to Steven (by 5 minutes!) and brother to Carol and Sara. His in-laws—Ivana, Laurie, Irving, Vinny, and Jeff—weren't just in-laws; they became his chosen brother and sister. All his nieces and nephews—Seth, Brenda, Elissa, Ian, Pamela, Jeremy, and Joshua—agree on one thing: "Uncle Eddie was and will always be amazing."
A scout leader and Mason for over 50 years and later a Shriner, Eddie was always there to offer a helping hand or simply listen. And we can't forget his beloved dog, Belle, who he cherished dearly.
His children, Glen and Ilene, will make sure his incredible legacy of love lives on. He was loved by so many and will be missed more than words can say.
A Masonic Service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview, FL at 5:00 PM, with a visitation one hour prior to the Masonic service.
