Roesser, Edith H. (Simmons), 85, died peacefully Sunday, September 25, 2011 under the care of Hospice, Sun City Center, Fla. Born in Germany she moved to Hillsborough County in 1948. She was educated in pattern design and dress making where she first worked in alterations for Maas Brothers in Tampa. Edith spent the next 48 years in the child care business, where she and her daughter were former owners of Simmons Child World. She was predeceased by her husbands, Doyle I. Simmons, and Karl Roesser. Survivors include her daughter, Jeannette Simmons Stewart (Denny) of Plant City; son, Doyle I. Simmons Jr. (Patsy) of Riverview; sister, Marlis Markovitz of Sun City Center; and several nieces, nephews and other loving family members. A Funeral Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
