Obituary for Draven Melroy Thomas
THOMAS, Draven Melroy, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Mercades Peck; mother and step-father, Taren Hill (Bruce Hill); father, Melroy Thomas, III; son, Ashton Carter Thomas; daughter, Denali Mae Magno; and sisters, Grace and Summer Hill. A Texas native, Draven was born in Waco, grew up in Florence and Killeen, and graduated from Ellison High School (Killeen). He loved baseball, and played on school and club teams year round. He had an infectious smile and a knack for making people laugh. Draven was loved by many, including his grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends in numerous states (and throughout the world through his military contacts). Draven was an Ammo Specialist in the United States Army for over 5 years and reached the grade of Sergeant (E-5). He served the bulk of his career with the 7th Special Forces Group at Eglin Air Force Base, FL. An Airborne Paratrooper, he said he felt happiest and most alive when he was parachute jumping. A celebration of life will be conducted on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 1 to 2 pm with the service at 2pm at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview.
