
On Wednesday, September 14th, 2022, Dorothy J. Morrison, known to many as Dottie, passed away peacefully at age 94. She will be remembered by family and friends as a caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved attending church, spending time with her family, and playing the piano. Dorothy was the youngest of 5 siblings. She attended University of Tampa on a music scholarship before getting married and having 4 children. She was a survivor, a leader, and she was the rock of her family. She learned to play the piano, organ, and claviola by ear. While her husband Frank was in service during World War II, she performed in a band at various USO clubs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Grace Seymour; husband, Frank Morrison; two brothers, Bill Seymour and Richard Seymour; two sisters, Mary Benson and Alice Mitchell; three sons, Carl, Bobby, and Larry Morrison. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Wallace) Stewart, grandchildren, Paulene (Steve) Burns, Sonya (Danny Sr.) Stalnaker, Aniki (Wilton III) Wilkerson, Michael (Rita) Stewart, Wanda Stewart, Michael McClanhan; great-grandchildren, Michael Seibert, Autumn (Caleb) Clemons, Danny Stalnaker Jr, Dalton Wilkerson, Kaylynn (Tyler) Spicer, Amber Burns, Brandon Burns; and a great great-granddaughter, Havyn Spicer. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Life Journey Baptist Church, 110 N. Forbes Rd., Plant City FL, 33566. Fellowship to follow service.
