“Dell” Cowart, age 82, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 as a result of cardiac arrest after a recent bypass surgery. She was born on January 20, 1942 in Bald Hill, Illinois. She had a career as a boilermaker for 25 years as a welder in the maritime industry. She was a long time resident of Brandon, Florida, where she was very active in Order of the Eastern Star for over 46 years. She was a memberof Mystic Chapter No. 110, OES in Temple Terrace, Florida. She also served as Mother Advisor of Temple Terrace Assembly No. 129, The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls for 12 years. She is survived by her husband Donald W. Cowart of Brandon, Florida; Brothers Leonard Wagner and Freddie Wagner; daughters Karen Hoffman (Victor) of Dubois, Illinois, Mary Lamczyk (Dave) of Dubois, Illinois, Debbie Fennel and Maryia Fennell both of Tampa, Florida. Grandchildren Crystal Storck (Michael) of Addieville, Illinois; Amber Whitener (Matt) of O’Fallan, Missouri; Tiffany Ater (Brendan) of Dubois, Illinois; and Jason Hoffman (Kelsey Patterson) of Dubois, Illinois. Great-grandchildren Alex Storck of Addieville, Illinois, Emerson Hoffman of Dubois, Illinois and Kal-El of Tampa, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Brandon Masonic Lodge No. 114, 203 N. Moon Ave, Brandon, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be for family only. All others, there will be a reception immediately following services in the Lodge dinner hall. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First Lady Project and sent to the Grand Lodge Building at 220 N Ocean St 32202 (checks to be made payable to The Grand Lodge of Florida).
