He was instrumental in initiating the CERT program in the community. He was a community advocate from 2013 to 2014 and was recognized for his hard work and dedication by having a street named after him because of all the work he performed in the road widening project. Dave served on the council at Apostles Lutheran Church and even helped to rebuild it after a fire in the annex. He was a member of the choir and an active volunteer at the church. A Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Apostles Lutheran Church, 200 Kingsway Road, Brandon. In lieu of flowers, it is Dave's wish that any contributions be made to a charity that he felt very strongly about and supported. This charity was founded by Dr. Kitty Bickford, who in dedicating her first book to him, attributed her success to his intervention. Pasture Valley Children Missions, P.O.
