Darrel Leo Durbin of Riverview, Florida passed away Tuesday May 13, 2025. He was born in Tower Hill, Illinois, November 14, 1946. He resided in Riverview, Florida since 1960. In 1964 he and his wife Priscilla from Chicago, Illinois were married in Riverview. Darrel worked and later owned the business in Riverview (Darrel’s Garage/Durbin Motors) from 1960 until the day he passed. He raced cars in his early days, had a car dealership and was one of the top diesel mechanics in Florida. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, International Independent Showman’s Association, Riverview Chamber of Commerce and a U-Haul Dealer for 32 plus years. Darrel could build or fix anything. He loved television, camping, and cooking out with his family. Darrel and Priscilla would have been married 61 years this November. Priscilla passed away May 22, 2024. Darrel is survived by his sons, David Durbin (Jennifer) and Daniel Durbin; daughters, Laura Butts (Tom) and Lana Durbin; sister, Ella Turner and two grandchildren, William and Gia Durbin. His parents, Mark Durbin and Oakie Durbin, preceded in his death.
A celebration of life will be July 13, 2025 at 2 pm.
