Danilo Veloso “Danny” Sarmiento, 86, of Apollo Beach, FL, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Born in Manila Philippines on November 13, 1937, he resided in Apollo Beach since 2018. He had 3 brothers and one sister. As a young child his family survived the horrors of the occupation of Manila by Japan. He was a graduate of the University of the Philippines with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He was a proud member of the TAU ALPHA Fraternity where he developed life-long friendships. He has an MBA from Stetson University. As an Electrical Engineer, he designed large Power Plants, refineries, chemical plants, refineries, etc. around the world. He immigrated from Manila to Pittsburgh PA in 1964, with $60 in his pocket, where he met his wife, Cindy Denk. They were married in 1970. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Anne Catholic Church, 106 11th Ave. N.E., Ruskin, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
