Curtis Vance Pierce passed away late Thursday night, April 6, in Valrico, FL, surrounded by his children. Curt was born August 3, 1937 to Rush and Lucy (Wood) Pierce. He graduated from Vestal Central High School and was an Air Force veteran.
He loved old cars and telling stories about his youth. His hobbies, included collecting and restoring antiques, spending time with family and friends, working around their home, but most of all spending time with his wife.
Curt was a happy go lucky guy who had a smile for everyone. He was easy going and had a twinkle in his eyes. He loved to tease his friends to get them laughing and was quick to hug to give comfort. His faith was strong and always got him through any tough spots.
He was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice (King) married for almost 52 years.
Curt was also predeceased by his parents Rush and Lucy (Wood) Pierce, three sisters and their husbands, Phyllis and Lyle Sherwood, Geraldine and Donald Hunsinger, and Beverly and Gene Allis; by two brothers, Dennis and Rush, Jr. and infant sister Susan; a son, Daniel Pierce, and nephew Jeffrey Hunsinger.
He is survived by his son, Alan Pierce, daughters, Stacey Pierce (Kevin) Burns, and Sharon Gallo. Grandchildren Molly and Lindsay Pierce, Kailyn and Zachary Burns; his brother James (Margaret) Pierce, sisters Diane (Terry) Szlucha and Marcia Root; Sisters-in-law Coral Pierce, Valerie Pierce, Ellen Hudson, and Laura Harder (Tom Matthews), a brother-in-law, Gerald (LaRea) King, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Brandon, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be at 3:00 P.M. at Auburndale Memorial Park, Auburndale, FL.
