Obituary for Cornelia Frederica (Branam) Baugh

Cornelia Frederica (Branam) Baugh, 79, of Plant City, FL, fondly known as Connie, Mom, and Grandma, was called to heaven on October 4, 2024. Connie is enveloped in love by her husband and love of her life, Sheldon “Shelley” Baugh; mother, Ruth Branam; sister, Patricia Cadrecha; brothers, Perry, Kenneth, James, and Timothy Branam who passed before her.

Left to embrace her memory are daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Chuck Parra; son, Ed Baugh; grandson, Joshua Parra; great-grandson, Dominic Parra; sister, Harriette Smith; brothers, Joseph (Leanne) Branam, Michael Branam, Chris Branam, and Charlie Branam; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly.

Connie was born May 10, 1945, in Mobile, AL. She was one of eleven children. She grew up in Treasure Island, FL, until moving to Tampa where she graduated from Hillsborough High School. In 1969, she met and married her husband Shelley who was in the U.S. Air Force. They lived a life of adventure with their two children traveling to Japan, and all over the United States until Shelley retired in 1984, and they moved back home to Florida. She retired from Publix Supermarkets and most recently started volunteering at the South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City before falling ill.

Connie enjoyed the simple things in life, the sunsets at the beach, a competitive card or word game, a good cup of coffee, a fun party where there were Jello or pudding shots, and you could always count on her to partake in having a big glass of wine (or two!) with you. She loved to have fun, her crazy laugh and witty sense of humor will be missed.

Her one constant in life was the love of family and friends, revealing a true heart, where her real happiness was derived from the happiness of those who were close to her. She was kind, forgiving and always greeted everyone she met with a smile, a hug and never hesitated to go out of her way to help those that she loved. She is loved by many. She will be missed dearly by many more, but thoughts of her will bring laughter and smiles, long after the pain of our loss subsides.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
