Cindy wanted you to know that she did not want this day to be sad; she is in heaven, and all her pain and suffering are over. She wants everyone to be happy, healthy, and have a good life. Make sure to tell your loved ones you love them every day!
Cindy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio September 16th, 1963 to Robert and Margaret McDonald. She has one sister and four brothers: Tim, Pat, Greg, Johnny, and Becky. She was the youngest. She unexpectedly passed away on the morning of Sunday, Aug 6th. Cindy was predeceased by her parents and brother Pat.
Cindy married the love of her life, Mark on 8-21-93. She is the mother of Philip Bates and a mother to Amber Johnson and Kristyn Willoughby. She is the grandmother to Leah McAfee, Clayton Johnson, and Levi Willoughby. Cindy has many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins, mostly in and near Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mark and Cindy just celebrated their 30-year anniversary of Aug 21st, and their 60-year birthdays with a lot of her family and friends from her hometown of Cincinnati at a family gathering at New Smyrna Beach.
Cindy is a sweet, loving, beautiful soul with a beautiful smile and always tried to cheer people up, make people laugh, and helped everyone she could. She loves all her family with all her heart and soul. She loved spending time with family and friends when visiting Cincinnati. She enjoyed the beach, gardening, and spending time at Lake Cumberland. She always loved the time she spent with her grandkids. She is known to many people by many names, my Cindy, Mom, Momma, Nanna, Momma Dukes, and Mrs. Cindy. There were a whole lot of kids that Cindy treated as her own while our kids were in school, and she is still in contact with a lot of them. She is loved by all who know her and loves everyone back the same; she will be missed more than words can express.
Cindy battled a 3-year challenge with cancer and emphysema. Her faith in God, prayers every night before bed, along with her family and friends, are what helped her get through it. We know that she is with Jesus in heaven, and we will be with her again one day.
