CLARK, Catherine L., 90, of Brandon, was born February 17, 1917 and passed away Saturday, October 27, 2007. She came to Pinellas County in 1956 with her husband and 4 sons. Her passion was building her career in the newspaper industry as a Times Staffer working for the St. Petersburg Times and Evening Independent. She started her career as a proofreader but eventually became a valued page editor. She also enjoyed the opportunity of writing human-interest stories, many of which included the adventures of her sons. She was the proud daughter of well-known 1920's New Orleans Jazz bassist Steve (Theodore) Brown who also played for the Jean Goldkette and Paul Whiteman Orchestras, and niece of Trombonist Tom Brown. She was predeceased by her loving husband, of 51 years, Victor and son Ted. She is survived by sons Roger, Colin and stepson, Bill, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was loved by family and friends and will be missed.
