Carmen Anita Whitney, 95, of Riverview, FL, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024. A native of Barbados, she had resided here for 5 years coming from Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt. She was extremely strong willed and dearly loved her family. She will forever be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love that touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her sons Jeffery Springer and Hugh Springer and is survived by her daughters, Sharon Whitney, Cheryl Santiago, Shirley (Angela) Springer and Wanda King; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. Carmen loved flowers, so both flowers and planters are welcomed.
