
Obituary for Carl Shrader Clark, Sr.
Carl S Clark, Sr, 85, of Valrico, Florida, passed away, Thursday, December 5, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in the Chapel at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Drive, Riverview, FL 33578. Visitation will begin at 5:00PM and internment will be at a later date in Georgia.
Carl was born April 6, 1934 in Rochelle, Georgia to Reginald Clark and Winifred Peeples Clark. He graduated from Rochelle High School in 1954 and obtained an Associate Arts degree from the University of Tampa. On June 10, 1957, he married Lena Jane Crenshaw. They were married for 62 years.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force [1954-1958] at MacDill Airforce Base in Tampa, FL and was employed at Purina Mills for 15 years where he managed the plants in Ellenton and Okeechobee in 1973 he worked as Plant Manager of Tampa Independent Dairy Association, now known as Southeast Milk, until his retirement in 2009. Carl’s greatest joy was his family especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his family and looked forward to spending time with them whenever he could, whether in Florida or Georgia. He also enjoyed taking care of his cows on the Clark Family Farm in Abbeville, GA.
Carl is survived by his wife, Lena Jane Crenshaw Clark, his four sons, Glen Clark (Linda), Steve Clark (Stephanie), Michael Clark (Jennifer) and Greg Clark, and one daughter, Glenda Clark Ferguson (Kevin); 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe, Hugh and David Clark, and three sisters, Sue (Tommy) Wilson, Jean Clark, and Evon Lovett as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Carl S Clark, Sr to Life Path Hospice or a charity of your choosing.
