Burie L. "Snuffy" Smith
SMITH, Burie L. "Snuffy", 84, of Riverview, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Snuffy resided in the Riverview area for nearly 60 years. A Veteran of WWII, serving in both the Navy and the Air Force. He was very active in American Legion Alafia Post #148, and a member of the Desoto Lodge #105, F. A.M., also an avid fisherman for most of his life. Snuffy was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Myrtice L. Smith; and cherished son, Donald B. Smith. He is survived by his sons, Daniel G. "Red" Smith of Haines City, and Douglas D. Smith of Riverview; daughter, Anna Smith O'Brien; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Information
A memorial service will take place 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Southern Funeral Care with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services.
