Bruce Allen Burke, 78, passed on Thursday, September 14th, 2023. Bruce was born on July 7th, 1945, in Long Beach, California. His Parents Mildred and Wendell raised him and his siblings Ed, Gary, and Linda in sunny Southern California. Bruce had a passion for surfing, sailing and anything associated with the ocean. He graduated from UCLA with a Degree in English. Bruce was a devoted teacher of English and later enjoyed working in the car industry for Ford Motor Company.
Bruce loved to travel and explore the world in places such as Greece, Germany, Egypt, Mexico and Ecuador. His affinity towards culture and the arts led him to find an appreciation for jazz and music of all genres, as well as cuisines from around the globe.
He enjoyed spending quality time with his family including his two daughters, Kate and Heather, and 5 granddaughters, Amber, Emily, Ashley, Margot, and Sylvie. He found solice in reading a good book or admiring nature.
Bruce will always be remembered for his kindness towards others, and a spirit of giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. His generosity and free spirit were infectious, as he was loved by everyone he came in contact with. He will be greatly missed, yet equally admired as a great man, friend, father and grandfather. Rest in peace Bruce.
A small family celebration of life will be held at one of his favorite beaches in Florida.
