Obituary for Betty Hocut
It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Hamilton Hocut announces her passing on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at the age of 84.
A native of Rome, GA, Betty graduated from Hoke Smith High School. She worked as a real estate agent and broker in the metro Atlanta area for many years before retiring to Riverview, FL.
She then moved to Covington, GA for seven years before returning to Florida in 2009, where she lived in Sun City Center, devoting much of her time, love, and energy to her family and her two Westies, Boomer and Beemer. She enjoyed writing, photography, and keeping up with friends and family on Facebook.
Betty will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Tom (Tammy) and Amber Hocut Johnson. Betty will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Jenna (Michael) Thomason, Sarah (Josh) Greene, David (Billie Jo) Wicks, Jett, and Jaisie, by her sister, Ruth Selmont, and by her companion, Harold Adams. Betty will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Pam and her son Joey. Her dear sister Sara passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018.
A Memorial Service in memory of Betty will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 7pm at First Baptist Church of Gibsonton (9912 Indiana St., Gibsonton) with Rev. Malcolm Clements officiating.
