With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend Betty Gravitt Rogers, who left us peacefully on May 2, 2025, in Hillsborough County, Florida. She was 79 years old.
Born on June 24, 1945, in Valdosta, Georgia, Betty spent most of her life in Florida, where she found endless joy and tranquility by the ocean. Her brilliant mind, quick wit, and fun spirit made her a force of nature and a light in the lives of all who knew her. She was strong, a little mischievous, and always a lot of fun. Betty had a deep love for reading, writing, music, sewing, and decorating — but nothing brought her more happiness than the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her creativity, her laughter, and her love of storytelling enriched every gathering, leaving memories that will last forever.
She married the love of her life, Ennis Odean Rogers, and together they built a full and vibrant life, raising a loving family. Betty is survived by her children: Judy Brinkley (Gary), Bruce Rogers (Cindi) John Rogers (Judy), Catheryne Macpearson, Elizabeth Campoamor (Joe), and Susanne Frangie (Frank). She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband Ennis, her parents, her brother Robert Gravitt, her sons Daniel Allen Rogers, Charles “Buddy” Rogers, and Michael Odean Rogers, and her grandson Jacob Ennis Campoamor.
Her strength, humor, and boundless love will live on in each of us. Rest peacefully Momma— you will
Forever be in our hearts.
