Barbara (Babs) Musser Taliaferro, 85, of Brandon, FL, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Originally from Pennsylvania, she had lived in Brandon since 1976 and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the beach in Indian Shores. She was Valedictorian and Homecoming Queen at Sunbury High School in Pennsylvania, and received the Moseley Award, a rare honor, when she graduated in 1985 with her Medical Technologist degree from USF. A strong believer in her faith, Babs was a church leader fulfilling several roles including Superintendent of the church school and sitting on her church governing board (Session). Babs is remembered for her beautiful smile and kindness to others. She set an example as a loving, caring and wise mother, was committed to helping and encouraging others, and donated time to various volunteer organizations, for example, the Adult Literacy Program and the Brandon Outreach Clinic. She is survived by her husband, Bob; sons, Alan and Jeff Taliaferro; daughter, Beth D’Elia; brother, Bill Musser; sister, Frances Gass; grandchildren, R. Ryland Taliaferro, Kaylie L. Morrison, Evelyn D’Elia and Arielle D’Elia and great-grandson, Robert R. Taliaferro (Rory). A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church of Brandon, 121 Carver Ave, Brandon, FL 33510.
