Obituary for Barbara A. Wolfe
Barbara A.(Hiller) Wolfe, 87, of Plant City, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 12, 2021, after a brave battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Gene Wolfe; 2 sons, Kevin (Amanda) Wolfe, and Ken (Tammy) Wolfe; and 1 brother Richard “Dickey” Hiller.
4 Grandchildren, Becky (Bryan) Scholten, Amanda Banford, Kelly (Luke) Jones, and Megan (Victor) Guingona.
10 Great-Grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wolfe, Ty Scholten, Romeo Banford, Chase MacNicol, Madison Holland, Jameson Jones, TJ “Bubba” Holland, Ava Jones, Benson Guingona, and Declan Jones.
4 sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews and other family members, all of whom she has touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert E. Hiller Jr. and Annie King, 2 brothers Robert E. Hiller III and Edwin Hiller and 1 Grandson Joshua Nye MacNicol.
Barbara was born in Tampa and raised in Brandon where she met the love of her life Gene. After Gene got out of the Army they married and moved to Plant City where they raised their two sons and lived for 67 years.
Barbara was a very talented cross stitcher who spent countless hours and months working on projects which won awards and helped raise money for charities. But mostly she loved making them for her family and made a personalized one for each family member and they are displayed proudly and lovingly in our homes as well as friends’ homes. She also loved watching and feeding the many birds that visited her backyard and took great delight in sharing that hobby with her family.
Per Barbara’s wishes the family will have a small celebration of life to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society.
