Armando Delgado, Jr., 80, of Valrico, FL passed away at home on May 9, 2023 surrounded by his family. A native of Tampa, Florida, he was born at Gonzalez Clinic in Ybor City on December 16, 1942 to Armando, Sr. & Mercedes Delgado. He was a loving & devoted son, brother, nephew, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1960 & attended University of South Florida thereafter. In 1961, he met the love of his life, Margie and they wed on June 24, 1962. They have twin daughters, Karen Marie Vega & Kathryn (Kathy) Lynn Damico. In his early years he worked for Gordon Potato Chips. He then worked in the freight transportation industry working for Terminal Transport, American Freight & Carolina Freight where he retired after 31 years of service. He then became a Certified Mortgage Broker and worked at A & M Mortgage for several years. Thereafter, he worked for Otis Elevators until his retirement in 2020. Armando was a member of Nativity Catholic Church, Teamsters Local Union #79 & Universal Lodge #178. Armando was preceded in death by his parents, Armando Sr. & Mercedes Delgado; brother, Ruben Delgado: Father-in-law, Augustine Garcia and Mother-in-law, Rosa Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margie Garcia Delgado, twin daughters, Karen Vega (Michael) & Kathy Damico (Mark), grandchildren, Mark Damico (Kristie), Amanda Damico Alles (Mitchell), Michael Vega (Autumn), Kaitlyn Vega and great granddaughter Calla Shea Vega, sister, Diana Ferreira, sister-in-law, Diane Delgado, aunt, Marina Valdes; several nieces and nephews and many cousins. A sincere gratitude of appreciation goes out to his caregivers & LifePath Hospice Green Team for providing outstanding, dedicated care and love. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association/Team Delgado or LifePath Hospice Green Team in his memory. A visitation for Armando will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Catholic funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity Catholic Church, 705 E. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL immediately following the funeral Mass. The Family is inviting friends and family back to Nativity Catholic Church Social Hall beginning at 1:30 p.m. following graveside service for fellowship, food and a Celebration of Armando’s life.
