Obituary for Anthony Steven Comer
Anthony Steven Comer, known to most of us simply as “Steve”, has been called on by our Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2020. A service will be held at First Baptist Church of Riverview at 12:00 P.M. Friday, September 4, 2020, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. Steve was born in Little Rock, AK to Edward Comer and Michelle Durham. Steve grew up in Tampa, FL and attended Robinson High School before enlisting in the United States Army. As an Airborne Ranger, Steve met his closest friend, Chuck Bradshaw, who would later become his Best Man at his wedding to his beloved wife, Deborah, in Middletown, N.J. Steve and Debbie raised two children, Mark and Jolene, in their Middletown home. Steve went back to D.O.D., this time as a civilian and fast became a successful Project Leader for an electric counter measure project called “short-stop”. In 1998 his career led him and his family to Riverview, FL where he worked and retired at MacDill A.F. B. as the Science Advisor for US SOCOM, a title he was very proud to hold. Steve was an avid fisherman and musician throughout his life, a tinkerer who could build anything, an excellent leader, a soldier, a Patriot, husband and one of the greatest father’s on this earth. He is survived by his wife, of 43 years, Debbie; son, Mark; daughter, Jolene and 4 grandchildren. Rest easy, sir.
