
Anna Jean Dickey (Ray, Springer) went home to her Lord and Saviour on February 19, 2025. Born in Frostproof, Florida on July 22, 1931 to parents J. Alvis and Gladys (Bryant) Dickey, Anna Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Robert Ted Hinson, and her brother, Dr. H. Bryant Dickey.
She was also predeceased by her ex-husband William Wood Ray, father of her three children, and her second husband, Ralph D. Springer, She is survived by her two sons William Wood Ray, Jr. and Robert Clarence Ray and by her daughter, Dr. Rebecca Celeste Ray. She leaves three grandchildren (Yancey William Ray, Mary Ray Myers and Anna Elizabeth Ray), and took great joy in four great-grandchildren (Adalyn Myers, Will Myers, Wyatt Myers, and Jackson Ray).
A graduate of Tampa Business College, she enjoyed travel and historical and genealogical research in her retirement. She was a Baptist, and a member of the Alafia River Chapter of the DAR and the Brandon Area Genealogical and Historical Society.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 24, 2025, at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be at 1:30 P.M. at Bowling Green Cemetery, Bowling green, FL.
