Obituary for Agnes "Aggie" Marie Smith
Agnes “Aggie” Marie Smith, passed away the morning of Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in the comfort of her own home in Gibsonton, FL. She had just turned 93 years old. Agnes was born March 11, 1929, in Clanton, AL. Agnes was a longtime resident in the Riverview/Gibsonton area. She liked singing karaoke, dancing, boating, shopping, and her trips to the Great Smoky Mountains. Agnes was best known to her family as “Nana” whom she loved spending most of her time with and loved very much. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, and daughter, Joyce. She is survived by her primary caretaker and loving daughter, Edye; her sister, Laine; her 5 grandchildren, Shannon (Jorge), Tony (Sandy), Melissa (Jessica), Chuckie (Karen) and Raymond ( Donna); 8 great-grandchildren, Nichole, Daniel, Lauren, Zach, Taylar, Kimberlie, Courtney and Natalie; 3 great-great-grandchildren, a niece, a nephew and many other friends and family. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Agnes.
