Dignified Cremation Services
Due to religious, environmental or personal reasons, more and more people are choosing cremation over traditional burial. Cremation can be an affordable alternative to the typical burial service.
If you have decided that cremation is the best option for yourself or a loved one, Southern Funeral Care's compassionate staff will carefully guide you and your family through the cremation planning process. You can rest easy knowing that your loved one will be treated with the utmost dignity and respect in the shelter of our care.
What exactly is cremation?
Cremation is a clean and ecologically safe process that reduces a body to its basic elements by direct fire. Once the cremation is completed, the cremains, cremated remains or "ashes," are placed in a temporary container provided by the crematory or an urn purchased by the family. Throughout the entire process, the crematory uses a carefully controlled labeling system to ensure accurate identification of the cremains.
There is a variety of service options when a family chooses cremation.
Some of the most common cremation services families will choose include:
- Funeral service prior to cremation.
- Memorial service.
- Memorial service after cremation, followed by inurnment in a mausoleum, crypt or columbarium.
- Immediate cremation.
If you have additional questions or concerns about cremation, do not hesitate to contact us. Our professional staff will offer you additional details and information about the cremation process and explain the various cremation options available to you and your family.
