Obituary for Merle Kelvin McAlpin
McALPIN, Merle K., 64, of Seffner, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018. A native of Reno, NV, he had resided here for 16 years. He was a member of Turkey Creek Masinic Lodge #248, F.&A.M.; Scottish Rite; Egypt Temple Shrine and Highlander Bagpipers. He was involved in Martial Arts for 40 years and was a 5th Degree Hapkido, 5th Degree Tang Soo Do and 5th Degree Canemaster. He made custom canes for self defense and was a Cane Masters America in Defense, certified instructor AID program training American Airline Pilots and Flight Attendants in on board self defense. He is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughters, Leah McAlpin, Taylor Grady and Cheyanne Hernandez; sisters, Lenelle McAlpin; Doris Evans and 3 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be conducted at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Turkey Creek Lodge, 3268 Jerry Smith Rd., Dover, FL 33527.
